Periodically we run The Marriage Course –it is a 7 week program that is a great tool for married and engaged couples who want to build a stronger relationship.
Movie Nights -
On one Friday evening a month we gather for pizza at 5:30 and start a two films at 6:00. One film is for children and the other is more geared to an adult audience. We have watched: Ushpitzin, Lars and the Real Girl, Julie and Julia, Bonhoeffer, As we Forgive, Ordinary Radicals.
Invisible College -
With some other Christian groups in Kingston we have put on Monday evening courses which involve the interaction of our faith with contemporary issues. We have run courses on Technology, Urban life, Art, Sabbath and Globalization.
Special Events -
We have hosted presentations and discussions on such topics like Christianity and Science, Dostoyevsky and Flannery O’Connor.
Sacramental preparation -
We offer instruction for those who desire to be baptized or have their child baptized. We have programs for children to learn about Holy Communion. We prepare youth and adults for confirmation. We also work with couples who are planning to unite in holy matrimony.
Liturgy and Learning -
Occasionally we abbreviate the 10:30 service to allow more time for a Sunday educational program. One Sunday we had a parishioner show slides of his recent trip to visit missionaries we sponsor in Mali. We had one presentation on sacred art history. We also had visitors speak about an Orphanage they started in Uganda.
